Memories of Indianapolis

We lived in Indianapolis in 1991 and 1992. We had not been back since so I wanted to drive around our neighborhood and the area where we lived. IT HAS CHANGED SO MUCH----I COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING!!! Not really----I could find our house but nothing else was the same. I used to take the back way to school out through the country by farms. All of that is businesses and industrial area now.

Our neighborhood.

Our house---8853 Powderhorn Way. We had evergreen trees in the front yard---they were gone. I don't know where these big trees came from!!! In the backyard, the deck and the hottub area with its enclosure looked just the same!

I finally found my school by spotting it from the freeway. Fishers Elementary where I taught 5th grade.

My old shopping grounds----lots of stores and restaurants had been added on to the mall. We ate here since none of our old favorite restaurants seemed to be around anymore. We couldn't believe the changes everywhere--- but I guess it is to be expected, after all it has been 18 years!!!
