Lexington

Lexington is all about horses---beautiful drives down all the roads take you to horse farms of everysize from 25 acres to several thousand. The fences or either white or black. You can tell if it is a real horse farm with pedigreed horses by the double fences. This protects the horses from getting out. We camped at the Kentucky Horse Park where we took a van tour to see several horse farms and Keeneland racetrack.

This is Winstar, owned by two Texans,--their horse won the Kentucky Derby this year and they have had the winningest horses for the past 5 years making their stud fees very high. They both live in the Dallas area. We were surprised to find that many of the horse farms and horses boarded here for breeding are owned by Arabs.

This is the house at Winstar and this star is their logo. We toured the breeding pens and at another farm, we visited the babies.

Sitting by the track---the movie SEABISCUIT was filmed here.
