Sequoia and King's Canyon NP

We spent a couple of days near here this week. We had a quake at 3:00 AM. It woke Fred up. The epicenter was just about 20 miles from us!!! Tex and I slept through it and didn't know anything until we watched the news. They are still having aftershocks.
The sequoia trees here are the largest trees in the world. Here our Jeep is next to some.

But the best part was the huge boulders left by the glaciers and the drive through the canyon. About 40 miles that takes forever because you climb up the mountain and then down into the canyon and then back out again.

Late afternoon on our way out of the canyon

Fred is doing his collecting again---even climbing down into the river to find some quartz.
