Our Fall Adventure

Monday, August 25--We left today for Idaho where we will be visiting some RV friends. We overslept, must have been that late night packing, but did get off by 9. As the miles rolled by, the stress disappeared. We talked, laughed, and enjoyed the scenery. We had to stop for a last Whataburger as we don't think that we will see another for 2 months.
Did you know that they raise camels in Texas? We saw two large herds. What a strange sight! Fred said that they were one-hump camels. I wouldn't even have noticed that.
We arrived in Amarillo at the KOA. It is so flat here that we can see forever. Tex and I enjoyed the fenced doggy park while Fred got us set up. After a short happy hour, a limo (with horns on the hood) picked us up for dinner at The Big Texan Steakhouse. If you are not familiar with this restaurant, it is the one that advertises a 72 oz steak for free if you can eat it. We declined that one for a 12 oz. What a fun treat to ride in a limo for dinner. Before bedtime, Tex and I enjoyed another walk until the Texas-size mosquitoes got us. Tomorrow we are off to Colorado--we plan to avoid Denver because of the Demo Conv.

Hey Fred and Janice, nice pics. We had our first blow out on the road. We drove on it for awhile as it was shredded to the rim. It was the middle tire on a triple axle and we didn't feel a thing. Headed to Canton today sorry to miss you guys. KD
