Our Busy Saturday

Saturday was a busy day---breakfast with peach bellinis and mimosas.



LeAnne had an old scrapbook from our early days in Carthage---what a laugh--sometimes we didn't even recognize ourselves and oh my, how times have changed--some of the newspaper articles were a hoot!!! She also had a campfire vest--none of us could remember fitting in anything that small!!!

Tommy, our chauffeur and LeAnne's husband, was really a good sport to put up with us. We toured the lake and went out to dinner by boat. We came back after dark so we could watch the moon come up over the water.

More of the Reunion

We first met last summer in Carthage---41 years after graduation---then in Marshall in November to celebrate our 6oth birthdays together----now at the lake 42 years after graduation!!!

The Reunion Setting

Our classmate, LeAnne lives on the lake and invited all of us girls to spend the weekend. What a great time we had!!! LeAnne has a beautiful home and we oohed and aahed about all her colors and artwork. She had margaritas waiting on Friday afternoon----four kinds and Texas leis made of old campfire beads. We took an afternoon swim and then had dinner on the patio. Notice the knife holder---we all laughed everytime we saw him.

Artwork in the stairwell---matches the legs on a table in the great room! Everything was so coordinated and colorful----just perfect for a home on the lake with all the water views.

We drove through part of the wine trail and stopped at a couple of wineries.

Touring in Fredericksburg

We stayed at the Fredericksburg Inn which had a fabulous pool which we enjoyed each night. Met some interesting people here in the hot tub. There was a spinning guild here taking a seminar with a guy here from England. Also lots of families and couples from various parts of the state.



We drove the Willow City Loop (which I have enjoyed during Bluebonnet season)---just a country drive this time of the year. We stopped at the Knot in the Loop Saloon which is known as the only restroom and place to get a drink on the loop.


The Knot had some interesting art and restrooms!!! (Can you read the sign on the toilet?)


The peaches were ripe so we sampled and bought some.

Girls Trip in the Hill Country

My best friend from high school, Reva, flew in from Oregon to attend a reunion of the girls we ran around with in school. We decided to leave earlier in the week and spend a few days in Fredericksburg----we actually needed more time!!! We had such a great time reminiscing and sightseeing and eating. First stop was the Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls. Chicken fried steak, coconut pie, and chocolate pie!!!




Just seeing these pies is something that you can never forget!!










Next day, we ate at the Peach Tree tearoom--Jalapeno pimiento cheese sandwiches on homemade bread and cold avocado soup. Notice that you see no pics of dinner places---we just snacked then as we just couldn't eat that many meals.
